Generic Name: Paracetamol BP 500 mg & Caffeine BP 65 mg

Presentation

Cafenol : Each film coated tablet contains Paracetamol BP 500 mg & Caffeine BP 65 mg.    

Indications
Paracetamol and Caffeine are used to treat pain from conditions such as headache, muscle aches, menstrual cramps, arthritis, backache, neuralgia, toothaches, sore throat, colds and fevers.

Dosage and administration

Adult : 1-2 tablets every 4 hours as needed.

Children over 12 years of age : 1-2 tablets every 4 hours as needed. (Maximum dose is 8 tablets in 24 hours).

Children under 12 years of age : Not suitable.

Contraindications

Patients should not take alcohol during treatment with this drug. Together, alcohol and Paracetamol can be damaging to the liver.

Precautions

Precautions should be taken in case of liver and kidney disease and the Paracetamol content of other over-the-counter and prescription products.

Side effects

Side effects are very rare and are not likely to occur with the proper use of this drug.  

Drug interactions

No significant drug interactions found with this drug.

Use in pregnancy and lactation

This drug is not expected to be harmful to unborn baby. It appears to be safe for use during breast-feeding. But should be avoided if possible.

Commercial pack

Each box contains 10 blister strips of 10 film coated tablets.
