What is Gemison?
Gemison is an antifungal agent. It is a combination drug. It contains hydrocortisone acetate BP 1% W/W and miconazole nitrate BP 2% W/W

What are the indications of Gemison?
1. Topical treatment of inflamed fungal infections of the skin and nails eg. intertigo, infected eczema, moist or dry eczema or dermatitis including atopic eczema, primary irritant or contact allergic eczema or soborroeic eczema associated with acne.
2. Topical treatment of vulvo-vaginal candidosis and fungal banalities.

What are the dosage of Gemison?
Gemison cream apply two or three times daily continuously for 10 days after lesion have healed. In case of nail infection, apply daily under occlusive dressing.

What are the contraindication of Gemison?
Gemison cream is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any one of its components. Since the cream contains hydrocortisone that is why it is contraindicated in tuberculosis, herpes simplex, keratitis, renal dysfunction, hypertension, glaucoma; congestive heart failure.

What are the side effects of Gemison cream?
Occasional skin irritation and sensitivity. Excess use of hydrocortisone may cause systemic affect.

Uses in Pregnancy and Lactation :
Since it has been proved that hydrocortisone in oral and injection form causes several disorders in the fetus and new born that is why this drug should be used with caution in case of pregnancy and lactation.

Balanitis : Inflammation of the glands penis and mucus membrane beneath it.
Pityriasis versicolor :
mild, chronic symptoms less fungus infection of the superficial layer of the skin. Characterized by scaly discolored area. Due to a fungus Malassezia furfur.
Intertrigo : A susperficial dermatitis in the fold of the skin.
Rosacea :
A syndrome of unknown cover associated with varying degrees of papule, pusfules and hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands predominautly on the face.
Hyperplasia : Excessive prolifecration of normal cells in the normal tissue arrangement of on organ.

Papule : Red elevated area on the skin solid and circumseribed.
Purtur : Small elevation of skin failled with lyomph or pus.
Urticaria : A vascular reaction of the skin charactorized by the eruption of pale evanescent whats which are associated with itching.
Itch : Irritation of skin inducting desive to scratch. Itching is caused by the skin being stimulated by a bite or scratching to release histamin.
Dermatomycosis : A skin infection caused by certain fungi of the genera trichophyton epidermophylon Microsporum.
Dermatophyte : A fungal parasite that grows in or on the skin. They cause such skin disease - faver, tinea, ringworm and eczema.
Eczema : Acute or chronic cutaneous inflammatory condition with erythema, papules, vesicles pustules, scales, crusts or scabs alone or in combination, Eczema is more the description of a symptom than of a disease.
Skin : The skin consists essentially of two layers the epidermis and the corium
Mycosis : Any disease induced by fungus.

v Vesicles : A small sac or bladder containing
