Pharmaceutical Marketing is a total system of business activities designed to plan, price, promote, establish and distribute products to target markets to achieve organizational objectives. The Marketing Department is headed by Director Marketing reporting to Managing Director and looks after overall marketing and distribution of General Pharma. Mr. Mir Zaki Azam Chowdhury is the Director Marketing & he looks after the Marketing and Distribution Departments with his 25 years professional experience.

 

 
Enlightened image about a company is essential for developing confidence before prescribing a product of that company for a patient. To build-up a company's image scientific Medical functions are being arranged & managed by the doctors. For successful arrangement of such scientific functions Medical Services Department plays a vital role in a Pharmaceutical company.

MSD has been established as a separate Department in GPL in 2001. Our Efforts are designed to benefit society through flourishing our Company. Scientifically MSD is playing the role to build strong relationship with prescribers in a very effective and sustainable process.

Medical Services Department along with Product Management Department (PMD) usually arranges services through out the country. Medical Services Department also arranges Scientific Conferences in Medical Colleges & Hospitals. Even Medical Services Department arranges THC Conferences and assists in Palli-Chikitshok (PC) Conferences to update their knowledge for serving ailing people of our country. Apart from such conferences, Electronic Media i.e. Web-Site has created an enormous opportunity to reach to a doctors mind. For this reason, Medical Services Department along with PMD has already started to open a web-Site for the doctors which will be of a source of medical as well as our GPL's Products Information Centre.

Now Medical Services Department is being directed by Dr. C.M. Ehsanul khaleque, Medical Services Manager who is assisted by Asstt. Manager Mirza Khorshed Alam.

 
 

Accounts Department is headed by Manager Accounts Who got experience of 25 years.

One Deputy Manager Accounts, One Asstt. Manager Accounts, Six Officers, Seven Jr. Officers and One Office Assistant are working under him with great zeal.

To motivate & evaluate the field forces for achieving the sales target this department plays a vital role. The head of sales convince sales forces that they can sell more by working harder or by being trained to work smarter. He convinces sales forces that the rewards for better performance are worth the extra effort.

Sales Promotion is looking after the sales promotional activities of the Marketing & Sales Department for better output of desired sales target of the company. Proper implementation of the Corporate guide lines, monthly Action Plan and office circulars related to the development of the company image and sales is the prime factor of the department of Sales Promotion.

Apart from the departmental activities he is also the Brand Manager of the Therapeutic Classes like Cardiovascular, Neurotonic, Vitamin, Minerals & Anti Diabetic drugs and responsible for the continuous development & growth of these therapeutic Classes.

According to Doha declaration (the fourth Ministerial Conference in Doha , Qatar , in November 2001), Bangladesh as one of the members of least developed countries (LDCs) can manufacture patent products from January 1, 2005 to 2016. So, there is an enormous opportunity for Bangladesh to export patent products to 49 LDCs.

To avail the opportunity, General Pharma has entered into international pharmaceutical business by establishing a dedicated department ‘International Marketing' from August 15, 2004 for its export activity.

The Department is headed by Dr. Ziad Rahman, (Manager International Marketing) who has extensive and direct overseas pharmaceutical marketing experience in Myanmar & Pakistan . His experience will enhance the aggressiveness of General Pharma in global pharmaceutical business.

So, business association with General Pharma will ensure availability of new products at reasonable price along with generic products and will ensure win-win situation between the companies and countries.
