MSD ACTIVITIES
Medical Services Department (MSD) of
General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GPL) sponsored a Scientific Seminar
that was jointly organized by Bangladesh Dermatological Society &
GPL on 'Pediatric Dermatology: Complication & Emergencies and Recent
Advancement in STD-AIDS Management' on November 29, 2005 at
Mymensingh Medical College. Professor M. A. Wadud, President of
Bangladesh Dermatological Society was present there as the Chief
Guest. Professor M. Mujibul Haque, Former Head of the Department,
Dermatology, Dhaka Medical College & Professor A. K. M. Shariful
Islam, Center for Medical Education were the speakers. Brigadier
General (Dr.) Golam Mostafa, Director, Mymensingh Medical College &
Hospital, Professor (Dr.) A. I. M. Mafakhkharul Islam, Principal,
Community Based Medical College, Mymensingh, Professor (Dr.)
Sayeedur Rahman, President, BMA, Mymensingh & Dr. Mohammad Ali
Siddique, General Secretary, BMA, Mymensingh were enlightened the
program with their presence. The participating doctors appreciated
GPL's Medical Services Department for organizing the Scientific
Seminar. The seminar ended with raffle draw & refreshment. |
GPL participated four
International Medical Conferences for the last three months. They
are: 5th Scientific Conference 2005 of Bangladesh Rheumatology
Society at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on October 2-3, 2005. 6th
International Congress and Scientific Seminar 2005 of Bangladesh
Society of Medicine at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on 6 & 7 December. 3rd
International Conference on Psychiatry organized by Bangladesh
Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel &
National Institute of Mental Health on 6-8 December, 2005.
International Conference on ‘Updates on Management in Cardiology and
Cardiac Surgery’ at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on 9 December, 2005.
EXPORT
GPL has started its export activities by exporting Cloderm (Clotrimazole
1%) Cream in Bhutan in November 2005. GPL's Cloderm was awarded
among lot of International brands at the International Tender of
Ministry of Health of the Royal Government of Bhutan. The concerned
authority expressed high remarks regarding the quality and
attractive packaging of the product. Good acceptance of Cloderm will
ensure more number of products in coming years in Bhutan and other
countries.
Dr. Ziad Rahman, Manager International Marketing of GPL visited
Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan as one of the
joint delegates of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industry
(BAPI) & Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) from September 5-15, 2005 to
explore export possibilities in those countries. All the
representative of the above mentioned countries expressed their
interest to work with GPL.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
GPL launched some of the very exciting products from September to
December, 2005 and this will ensure more treatment options for the
physicians to prescribe for their valuable patients. GPL launched
