There are 2000 skilled professional are
working in GPL inclusive of 900 Sales &
Marketing Force. The distribution network is
spread all over Bangladesh with a
professional team of 500 distributions
personnel. Launching new products in every
month, maintaining the strong position in
the market since their inception in 1987.
In recent years GPL has entered into export
fields by registering its products in Viet
Nam, Kenya, Hong Kong, Macau, Mauritius, Myanmar, Sri Lanka & Maldives. In this
connection GPL is also aiming to export
their pharmaceutical finished products to
other countries of South East Asia, Middle

History of
the Organization: |

General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GPL) is
incorporated as Private Limited Company on the
5th day of April, 1984. Dr. Momenul Haq,
Managing Director, Dr. Gazi Nurun Nabi,
demised Director were friends and classmates
since their boyhood. While they were
medical students, country’s poor health
condition |

struck their mind. They would always feel that
health sector was being deprived and
neglected. They cherished in their mind to do
something for welfare of
the common people by rendering their professional zeal. With this end in view M/S. General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GPL) stepped into manufacturing of drugs during, 1987 with initial 7 products and minimum manpower. |

The factory is located at Mouchak
under Gazipur District. The production
floor is about 70,000 Sq.ft with
modernized machines and Equipments.

The total area of the factory premises
is 5.38 Acore. |

of US$ 25 million per annum in terms of
value. |

Production
Department: |
|
|
Production Department is headed by one
Production Manager. There are 6 units in the
production department:

Tablet section
Capsule section
Liquid section
Dry Syrup section
Cream, Ointment & Lotion section

Blister and Strip Packaging section

There are 8 production officers. All of them
are pharmacist guided by 1 Manager and 1
senior production officer. There
are 1 Dispensing Pharmacist, 8 production supervisors,
88 Permanent worker & 110 Casual Worker.
Total 219 general
workers in production department.
Total tablet compression Capacity is 120
million Tablets, Tablet coating is 60
million, Capsulation 200 million, Powder
filling is 20,000 Kg, Tube Crimping is about
2.90 million Tubes and liquid Filling is
about 2.25 million liters per Month.
The factory production capacity is fully
utilized by using the machines in two
shifts. |

Quality
Assurance Department: |
|
|
The company’s strength lies in Quality Control & Quality
Assurance and up to date manufacturing facilities. It has established
manufacturing facilities conforming to WHO cGMP standards.
Every operational division at GPL aims to achieve the right
result every time, by following the validated methods.
Every step of the production process is carefully monitored
and controlled.
From raw materials to the finished product stage, a quality
verification system performs inspections of products and facilities.
There are 1 Quality Assurance
Manager, 1 Deputy Manager, 6 Quality Assurance Officer, 7 Quality Control
Officer, 1 Microbiologist, 2 QA Assistant, QC Assistant & 7 Lab worker. Total 28

GPL’s product development is an expression of the commitment in quality and innovation. The concerned persons are relentlessly working to develop quality products.
